The series of 5″x5″ oil paintings continues. Delightful to paint in series, which can either stop or continue, as the fancy dictates.

A favorite flower for painting in cold weather, hellebores are also sometimes the only flower available to paint. This is another of the small oils, 5″x5″, which are intended to hang in groups.

This small oil, 5″x5″, is the first of a series of small paintings for a spring show. All of the paintings in this group of 16 are 5″x5″. Other groups are also of small flower paintings, one group only 4″x4″. All should show up here soon!

Another of the series of West Virginia wildflowers, created after several fine days of botanizing in the mountain woods, filled with fabulous wildflowers, only to be seen by those who know where to look. I was fortunate in having an expert guide, my cousin Heather, who has explored these woods for many years. Thanks, Heather!

A new watercolor, size about 19″ x 24″ The summer has been just about perfect for growing good flowers of all kinds. I’ve always thought delphiniums were a horticultural tour de force, out of reach for all but the most skilled and ambitious gardeners. Some of the great beauties of the garden, however, so worth a try, since some nice plants appeared in a local nursery. Here is the result.
